NOTE FROM CHAIRMAN –
RE: External Auditor’s Report 2018-19:-
The Chairman expressed disappointment that the report only commented on the completion of a Government statement (the AGAR)
and not on the Parish Accounts themselves. This statement does not lend itself to accruals based accounting neither does it give any
meaningful information to the general public. The comments made by the auditors related to this new system of accounting
All members wished to record that that the comments made had no bearing on the Parish Clerk’s ability to keep the Parish accounts nor on
the accounts themselves which were completely accurate. On Wednesday 16 October the Chairman will be meeting Sir Tony
Redmond, who has been appointed by the government to review the external audit of local government bodies including small parish
councils, to ask that a more meaningful audit for the Parish be produced in future years especially since we are charged £200 annually.
